In just about any diet plan in the world, there is a term usually said among the people who have tried the diets. You know what that word is? It is the word “plateau”.
Plateau, at least used in this context, is a word to describe the phenomenon where you do not lose weight anymore after a few days or weeks into your diet routine.
Why is that so and why is it happening to people who are on a diet? Basically, our bodies have a defense mechanism in place. Whenever it sees that you’re losing too much body fat, the body will then remain constant for a while in an attempt to save the fat, thus, you will not lose weight.
This is pretty common for dieters, especially if they are already a few weeks into their diet program.
As common as it is, many people do not know what to do in order to continue their weight loss.
Well, if you’re on the hCG diet and you’re experiencing a weight plateau, then you’re in luck. I will share with you some tips you can do in order to get off that diet plateau and continue losing weight while on the hCG diet:
- Gradually Increase Your Calorie Intake. The hCG diet is a popular diet in the sense that it is one of the most calorie restricted diet plans available. What I mean by this is that you’re only allowed to eat a certain number of calories per day in order for the hCG hormone to work. If you’re in phase 2 of the hCG diet, for example, you’re only allowed to eat 500 calories per day for 2-4 weeks. In order for you to overcome the hCG diet plateau, you need to increase your calorie intake per day by a small amount. We’ll go back to the phase 2 example. If you’re eating only a total of 500 calories per day, increase the calorie intake to anywhere between 700-1000 calories for 2-3 days. I know this might deviate from the course of the hCG diet plan but by doing this, you should be losing weight after the third day.
- Eat Six Apples. There is a saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Well, in this case, six apples a day for three days can keep the diet plateau away. Apples only contain a few calories but it is so filling that it will ramp up your metabolism. This, in turn, will help you get out of that weight-loss plateau and start losing weight again after three days.
- Small Exercise. I know that most hCG diet advocates would warn you not to do some exercise while on the hCG diet but it is completely safe to do so, provided that you do not do weight-lifting and instead do some cardio exercises. Exercises like brisk walking and jogging are great exercises that can help you get out of that weight-loss slump.
If you’re at least 14 days in the hCG diet plan and you’ve noticed that hit a weight-loss plateau, then just follow the three tips I’ve mentioned above.
After three days, your weight loss will be re-ignited and you will lose weight once again.
